Fibers, frays, and irregular edges — all in a single stroke! This professionally crafted brush set delivers studio-grade detail, giving designers the freedom to add authentic paper effects without the time-consuming process of scanning or masking physical scraps.
“The idea of creating brushes that emulate torn paper seemed incredibly bold to me. It brought everything together — my scrapbooking experience and the frustration of finding decent stock clipart. One made me feel nostalgic, the other made me cringe. So I rolled up my sleeves and got into the painstaking process of building a pack that would impress with its realism and functionality. Not a rigid set of stamps tho.”
It’s hard to believe, but you’re actually drawing with paper. On paper. Inside a drawing app. Sounds kind of absurd — but it’s surprisingly efficient and lets you create incredibly accurate textures and complex compositions. The kind you’d normally only perform with analog media, not digitally. We’re talking full collage diversity here — from Dada-style or punk zine aesthetics to that trending surrealism vibe. The brushes work for commercial projects too: merch, stationery, album art, stickers, moodboards, logos, tags, packaging, ads, and social media content. And of course, they're a dream for visual art — posters, experimental graphics, concept art, comics, illustration, and more.
No Clipart. No Mockups. No Fuss.
The brushes were built from scratch through dozens of experiments with real paper and custom settings. That’s why you can actually draw with them — not just stamp out cookie-cutter shapes. The collection includes 14 torn-edge brushes, 10 texture brushes, and a palette of 24 paper-inspired colors. As always, we didn’t just make a pack, but built a proper toolbox to fully cover your creative needs when working with this kind of medium.
Crafted from Real Tears (of Paper)
We didn’t fake the edges. Every brush was hand-made, tested, reworked, and tested again — from tearing paper to fine-tuning brush flow. Instead of pasting assets, you will be painting with frayed edges and shaping your design with tears. The brushes respond to your composition, giving you full control over shape, texture, and contrast directly on the canvas.
Torn Paper Brushes FAQ

Torn edge brushes emulate the rough, irregular outlines of ripped paper — capturing everything from fine fiber tears to bold, jagged cuts. Unlike static assets or stamps, they’re pressure-responsive and dynamic, letting you create expressive, collage-style shapes directly on your canvas.
-
Because brushes give you full creative control. You don’t have to hunt for the perfect clipart or isolate ripped paper in Photoshop — just paint it in. These brushes scale cleanly, blend naturally, and eliminate the need for masking, mockups, or layer setup.
-
They’re perfect for digital collages, poster art, zines, surrealist compositions, punk aesthetics, and scrapbook-style projects. They also shine in branding, packaging design, album art, merch graphics, moodboards, and mixed-media illustration.

No. Designers of all kinds use them to build custom assets, textures, and compositions — from social content to editorial layouts. If you’ve ever dragged a lasso tool around a ripped shape, this is your shortcut.
